Chinese wind turbine manufacturer Mingyang Smart Energy Group Ltd (SHA:601615) is poised to supply 240 MW of turbines in Brazil.
The company said in a recent Linkedin post that it has signed a preferred supplier agreement with an undisclosed customer for an onshore wind project in the South American country. The project, split into two phases, will be equipped with 30 units of Mingyang’s MySE 4.0-156 turbine and 19 pieces of its MySE 6.25-172 model.

The manufacturer is in addition negotiating a 20-year operations and maintenance (O&M) contract for the wind park.
Mingyang described the project as “a significant breakthrough in the Brazilian market.”
In another recent post, Mingyang unveiled a 30-MW-class pure hydrogen gas turbine, designed for renewable energy farms in desert regions. The company explained that the system uses 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen a year, produced from surplus wind and solar power, and generates 200 GWh of electricity.
The system has undergone a series of tests since its first ignition in May 2023, according to the post.
