German cleantech unicorn 1Komma5 announced today that it is setting foot in the Dutch market with the acquisition of local solar and energy storage solutions provider Zonduurzaam.
Deventer-based Zonduurzaam has so far sold and installed over 10,000 energy systems, of which nearly 5,000 in 2023 alone. The company, which employs about 100 experts, has six locations across the country. It was founded and led by brothers Koen and Thomas Rozendom.
The acquired company will now be in charge of 1Komma5’s market offering in the country, making its product and software portfolio available to millions of customers in the Netherlands.
1Komma5 offers clean-energy infrastructure installation, including solar panels, energy storage, EV wallboxes and heat pumps, alongside its smart energy management system Heartbeat.
The acquisition of Zonduurzaam comes shortly after, in December, 1Komma5 obtained banking financing of up to EUR 100 million (USD 109.5m) to fund its growth and potentially reach the capital market. Earlier last year, it attracted a double-digit million euro investment from European venture capital firm 2150.
