A joint venture of heavy lifting and transport company Mammoet has been awarded a marshalling contract by Ørsted (CPH:ORSTED) for the Danish developer’s 920-MW Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms in Taiwan.
The joint venture, Mammoet-Giant Taiwan, is a partnership with Taiwanese Giant Heavy Machinery Services. It will perform marshalling and lifting activities for 66 suction bucket jackets.
The quayside operations will be handled by Mammoet’s 5,000-tonne capacity SK 350 ring crane. It will lift the 2,500-tonne jackets directly from deck carriers to the quayside and after temporary storage on site, onto deck carriers ferrying the jackets to the installation vessel in the field, the company explained on Wednesday.
Mammoet’s PTC200-DS ring crane was involved in works for the Greater Changhua 1 and 2a offshore wind farms in 2022.
Ørsted announced the final investment decision for the Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms in March.
