Peru generated 5.2% of its electricity from non-conventional renewable energy sources in January through June this year, according to the latest preliminary figures released by the Peruvian ministry of energy and mining.
In June alone, the combined share of wind, solar and bioenergy power plants reached 6.0% of the total electricity production in the country. These plants produced 304 GWh during the six month of the year, 18% more compared to the year-ago period when the renewables share was 5.3%, the ministry said.
