Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) on Thursday said it has secured a 189-MW order in the US, without disclosing the customer and the project.
Under the contract, Vestas will supply, deliver and commission 45 units of its V150-4.2 MW turbine model. Delivery of the machines is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2024, with commissioning planned for the following quarter.
The deal also includes a multi-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.
Vestas is set to report second-quarter results next week. In the first quarter of 2023, the company swung to a profit of EUR 16 million as revenues improved.
According to Wood Mackenzie, Vestas accounted for 3.3 GW of global wind turbine orders in the first quarter of 2023.
