Axpo Iberia, a unit of Swiss power producer and energy trader Axpo Holding AG, said that it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to deliver 100% energy to Japanese pharmaceutical company Towa International in Spain.
The PPA was negotiated by Barcelona-based energy procurement consultancy Magnus Commodities.

Axpo will source the electricity from several solar farms it manages in Spain, the company said. The procurement will enable Towa to cover 70% of the electricity consumption of its headquarters, factory and the research and development centre in Martorelles, Barcelona.
With this PPA, and in combination with other solar sources, all of Towa’s electricity comes from 100% renewables, the pharmaceutical company said separately.
