Chilean utility Colbun SA (BCS:COLBUN) has signed two power purchase agreements (PPAs) with water solutions company Aguas Pacifico SpA to deliver 100% renewable energy to its seawater desalination plant in central Chile.
Aguas Pacifico SpA is currently building the plant in Quintero Bay, in the region of Valparaiso. Colbun said that it will supply up to 280 GWh of certified renewable electricity per year to the plant and its facilities.

The power supply will run for ten years. The plant and the water impulsion system are expected to commence operation by the end of 2025.
