The Government of Cote d’Ivoire and PFO Africa, have signed a concession agreement and a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 52MW solar plant in the country.
The 25-year agreement covers the design, financing, construction, operation and transfer of the solar plant.
The deal is with PFO Africa’s subsidiary PFO Energies, which develops, finances and operates sustainable infrastructure to increase access to clean electricity in West Africa.
It will be the largest solar power plant construction project in Cote d’Ivoire implemented by an Ivorian independent power producer.
The solar plant represents a total investment of €60m.
The solar power plant will be located in Sokhoro, in the Tchologo region in the north of the country.
The execution phase should begin during the second half of 2024 and will take 14 months to construct.
This project will create more than 600 jobs during the construction and operation phases, as well as the implementation of community and social projects for the village of Sokhoro and the region of Tchologo.
