Daqo New Energy Corp (NYSE:DQ) today said that its Phase 5A polysilicon facility in Baotou City, the Chinese region of Inner Mongolia, has reached its full annual production capacity of 100,000 tonnes.
The milestone means that the Chinese supplier of high-purity polysilicon for the solar industry now has a total annual nameplate production capacity of 205,000 tonnes.
Daqo New Energy chief executive Longgen Zhang said that the “sizable facility with highly advanced technologies and a fully-automated, digitised operational system” was completed on schedule, ramping up to full capacity in June, as originally planned.
The plant is N-type compatible to support the next generation of solar photovoltaic (PV) products, the CEO added.
According to guidance provided in April, the company expects to produce between 193,000 tonnes and 198,000 tonnes in 2023.
