The Dominican Republic’s national energy commission CNE said on Wednesday it had signed definitive concessions with three entities, enabling them to build 148 MW of solar farms in the country.

The beneficiaries are the following companies: LCV Ecoener Solares Dominicana, Cotoperi Solar FV and Renewable Energy World Dominicus (R.E.W.D.).

LCV Ecoener, of Spain’s Grupo Ecoener SAU (BME:ENER), will build the 50-MW Payita 1 solar farm in Maria Trinidad Sanchez province.

R.E.W.D. will also build a 50-MW plant, named Parque Solar R.E.W.D., siting it in La Romana province.

The concessionaire Cotoperi Solar FV, not long ago affiliated with Spain’s Acciona Energia (BME:ANE) as the majority owner, will be responsible for the 48.06-MW Cotoperi I solar project in La Romana province.
