US utility Dominion Vitality Inc (NYSE:D) will procure electrical energy from a 107.8-MW DC photo voltaic challenge that’s deliberate to go surfing in South Carolina in 2024.
The ability buy settlement (PPA) was signed by Dominion Vitality South Carolina (DESC) for the Lone Star photo voltaic park’s future output, the utility stated on Wednesday. The challenge proponent is photo voltaic and vitality storage developer Southern Present LLC, a subsidiary of energyRe.
To be positioned in South Carolina’s Calhoun County, the photovoltaic (PV) park is slated to start industrial operations in 2024 and generate sufficient electrical energy to provide 17,000 houses and companies per 12 months. The plant can be coupled with a 198-MWh battery storage part, to be one of many largest ones within the state.
The challenge would require round USD 200 million (EUR 186.6m) in investments to be realised. It’s at present pending acceptance for submitting by the Public Service Fee of South Carolina and different regulatory approvals.
