Duke Vitality Sustainable Options (DESS), a non-regulated industrial model of US utility Duke Vitality (NYSE:DUK), has acquired a 175-MW photo voltaic mission in Colorado from the Colorado-based US subsidiary of German photo voltaic developer Juwi.
The Pike Photo voltaic mission, positioned exterior town of Colorado Springs, will promote its electrical energy to Colorado Springs Utilities underneath a 17-year contract.
The solar energy plant is at the moment underneath building, with civil work and racking set up underway. Its start-up is anticipated in late 2023.
Underneath the acquisition settlement, Juwi is accountable for the engineering, procurement and building, whereas DESS is procuring the photo voltaic modules. The 2 firms will share the operation and upkeep tasks.
The deal expands DESS’ photo voltaic portfolio in Colorado to a few initiatives totaling 248 MW.
Duke Vitality says it has greater than 10,500 MW of photo voltaic and wind vitality throughout the US.
