Danish renewables developer European Energy A/S said on Wednesday that it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the delivery of electricity from its 40-MW Bubney solar farm near Liverpool.
The off-taker is Danish food packaging solutions company Faerch Group. Under the PPA, Faerch will procure the entire electricity output generated by Bubney for its UK operations. The company has three production facilities in the UK.

The Bubney solar farm will be capable of producing around 40 GWh per year, according to European Energy. The PPA with Faerch will run for ten years, starting in 2025.
“Having a partnership with European Energy on the offtake of renewable energy from Bubney also brings us a step closer to our goal of 100 % renewable energy through PPAs and other initiatives such as energy efficiency projects and the installation of on-site solar panels on the majority of our operations”, commented Tom Sand-Kristensen, Group CFO at Faerch Group.
