Zurich-based utility EWZ on Thursday announced the acquisition of the 115-MW Anglarna wind farm project in central Sweden, which is expected to become operational in 2026.
EWZ has emerged as the buyer of the project after Swedish developer OX2 AB (STO:OX2) last week announced its sale to an unnamed European utility.
The wind farm will have 18 turbines, of 6.4 MW each, to be supplied by turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS).
EWZ said the project is both consolidating and diversifying its presence in Sweden. The company has owned a portfolio of four wind farms in southern Sweden since 2015.
According to the announcement, the Anglarna development will increase the annual production of EWZ’s investments in wind turbines from around 977 GWh to around 1,323 GWh.
