GE Vernova said on Thursday it has received a 97-MW wind turbine order in India from O2 Power Private Ltd, a joint Indian platform of investment firm EQT and Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund Temasek.
GE Vernova will supply, install and commission 36 units of its 2.7-132 onshore wind turbine for O2 Power’s 97-MW wind power project in the state of Maharashtra. The wind farm is to be brought online in stages, with full commissioning expected in the early part of 2025.
According to the announcement, the project will power various industries and commercial establishments, while helping them achieve their decarbonisation targets.
Deepak Maloo, regional sales leader for GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind business in Asia Pacific, said the manufacturer looks forward to furthering its partnership with O2 Power as the platform continues to build its renewable energy portfolio.
GE has so far received over 3.5 GW of orders for its 2.7-132 wind turbines made in India.
