Greece’s Regulatory Authority for Waste, Energy and Water (RAAEY) has opened a tender for the construction of 200 MW of renewable power plants that will be selling their output on the Greek day-ahead market.
The solicitations will offer operating support to wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) parks located in Bulgaria and Italy, tender documents show. The cross-border competition is facilitated by a law promoting the development of energy projects in the European Economic Area.
The tender will be open to solar projects with capacities exceeding 1 MW and wind schemes of over 6 MW in size. The bidding price for solar PV projects is capped at EUR 54 (USD 59.16) per MWh, while the maximum price for proposals in the wind energy segment is set at EUR 63/MWh. All participating projects should have grid-connection permits in place.
Prospective bidders will be able to submit their offers by March 11, 2024, with bids to be evaluated between March 12 and April 17. The list of winners is due to be announced on April 25.
Successful candidates will be able to sell the output of their plants in Greece’s day-ahead market on a daily basis daily, through physical delivery. The deadlines for commissioning the capacity are 36 months for wind farms and 30 months for solar parks.
