Renewables company Greenvolt – Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) and BlueFloat Energy announced today a partnership to develop offshore wind projects off the coast of Portugal.
The companies said that the new offshore wind projects will help the Iberian country to achieve its goal of 10 GW of offshore wind installed capacity by 2030.
Under the joint initiative, Greenvolt will bring its expertise in the local development and permitting process as well as its strong local brand recognition. On the other hand, BlueFloat Energy will add extensive technical knowledge and understanding of floating offshore wind.
No further details about the partnership were disclosed at the moment.
Greenvolt Group’s CEO, Joao Manso Neto, noted that with this partnership the firm maintains its strategic positioning now expanding to the offshore wind segment in Portugal. “Entering the Portuguese market is a natural extension of our floating wind strategy for southern Europe,” BlueFloat Energy’s CEO, Carlos Martin, added.
