Chicago-based Invenergy announced on Thursday it has energised the 103.9-MW Number Three Wind Energy Center in New York, thus completing the first of more than 20 renewable energy assets under the statewide Clean Path NY portfolio.

The wind park in question is located in Lewis County, where, at a total cost surpassing USD 220 million (EUR 199.7m), Invenergy has installed 27 turbines. In 2016, it was one of 11 projects to receive an award from NYSERDA for the purchase of Tier 1 renewable energy certificates (RECs).

Clean Path NY is a public-private collaboration between the New York Power Authority (NYPA), Invenergy and energyRe LLC that aims to develop 175 miles of new transmission lines, over 2,000 MW of new wind parks and 1,800 MW of new solar plants across the state.
