Lamprell has signed a large capacity reservation agreement for the 4200MW Norfolk Vanguard project to supply 92 turbine foundation pieces for the scheme.
The reservation agreement secures capacity in Lamprell’s Hamriyah yard (pictured) in the United Arab Emirates and entails the supply of the structures and their shipping to Tees Work Port in the UK.
The offshore wind farms are in the southern part of the British North Sea, approximately 47km off the Norfolk coast. Recently acquired by RWE from Vattenfall, the Norfolk Vanguard project is expected to be commissioned this decade.
“Lamprell is pleased to announce our reservation agreement for the Norfolk Vanguard project,” said the company’s chief executive Ian Prescott.
“The establishment of this reservation agreement marks a positive step in forward planning and addresses the growing demand and limited capacity in the offshore wind fabrication industry.
“Our fully commissioned renewables production line, which is currently delivering transition pieces for the Moray West project, is key in meeting the escalating demands for capacity in the expanding renewables sector.
“Lamprell remains committed to investing in our facilities, further solidifying our position as a leading fabricator of offshore wind foundation structures.
