French green hydrogen developer Lhyfe (EPA:LHYFE) announced today that it has commissioned another green hydrogen production plant at home, a 5-MW site in the Morbihan region of Brittany.
Spanning 6,800 square metres (73,194 sq ft), the newly-launched facility is located in the commune of Buleon. It will have a daily output of up to 2 tonnes of hydrogen, or up to 575 tonnes per year, for local mobility and industrial uses.

Lhyfe Bretagne is the first green and renewable hydrogen production site in Brittany and one of the largest in France, according to the press statement.
With a containerised format, the facility will produce hydrogen via water electrolysis using renewable electricity. The power supply has been secured under an offtake agreement with the nearby VSB Energies Nouvelles wind farm.
The project was part of the Great West Hydrogen Valley (VHyGO) initiative, the purpose of which is to establish territorial hydrogen ecosystems. Apart from Lhyfe, the consortium behind VHyGO also includes HyGO and GNVert.
The inauguration of the Lhyfe Bretagne site comes shortly after the French firm energised its third green hydrogen production site in France, a 5-MW facility in the commune of Bessieres, in the southernmost French region of Occitania.
Lhyfe’s pipeline includes five other sites already under construction or expansion across Europe. The company is targeting an output of up to 80 tonnes a day by 2026. On Thursday, it announced having secured EUR 28 million (USD 30.5m) in debt to fund projects realisation.
