European alternative investment fund manager Marguerite said today its solar development platform Nexun has signed a co-development agreement with “an experienced Polish developer” for a 206-MW pipeline of 16 solar projects in Poland.
Each of the projects has a land lease signed, and half of the pipeline has already obtained environmental approvals and zoning. According to the announcement, Nexun will apply for grid connection for the initial 52 MW this month and another around 60 MW in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Nexun chief executive Josef Kastner said the company’s ambition is to become one of the leading developers in Poland, which continues to rely on coal for power generation and desperately needs to switch to renewables.
Nexun is negotiating further similar agreements in Germany, Spain and Poland and has also started developing several greenfield projects in France with its own team.
Set up in January 2023, the platform is looking to create a portfolio of over 2 GW of developed and in-development projects in the span of six years.
