The New York Power Authority (NYPA), a state public power utility, is seeking information about potential interest and opportunities for partnerships related to renewable energy projects and storage systems.
NYPA started the new year with issuing a request for information (RFI) on potential collaborations with renewable developers, contractors and companies to develop, own and operate solar, wind and battery energy storage systems.
“The Power Authority is building on momentum from the completed renewable energy conferral process to now engage with renewable developers directly to identify opportunities in the energy marketplace,” NYPA president and chief executive Justin Driscoll said, adding that the RFI results will inform NYPA’s next steps in advancing the clean energy transition.
NYPA’s recently published Conferral Report includes stakeholders’ views on renewable energy deployment in line with legislation in the 2023-24 state budget. The latter provided NYPA with increased authority to develop, own and operate renewable energy projects to aid the state’s renewable energy goals.
