OCI Solar Power, part of South Korean energy and chemicals company OCI Co Ltd (KRX:010060), has sold a 110-MW ready-to-build solar project in Texas to Japan’s Mitsui & Co (TYO:8031).
The divestment concerns the Three W photovoltaic (PV) scheme in Hills County, OCI Solar said on Monday without providing financial information. The deal comes on the heels of the San Antonio, Texas-based company’s recent agreement with Mitsui & Co USA Inc, the US arm of the Japanese trading group, to partner in the development of solar projects.
The Three W complex will be built near Hillsboro, south of Dallas and is expected to be commissioned in 2025. Construction works are slated to begin next year.
OCI Solar has built up a Texas portfolio totalling more than 3 GW, which consists of projects in operation, under construction and in development. The company also has solar parks generating electricity in Georgia and New Jersey.
