Q Energy Solutions SE, the Berlin-based energy division of Korean enterprise Hanwha Solutions Corporation (KRX:009830), expects to begin construction work on 320 MW of French wind and solar projects this and next year.
The company said in a statement on Tuesday that it has initiated building works on six projects: the repowering of the 24-MW Souleilla wind farm in the Occitanie region; the Croix de Bertault and Croix de l’Erable wind parks, as well as the Sable Rouge solar plant in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region totalling 42 MW; the 24-MW extension of the Langres Sud wind farm in the Grand Est region, known as the Le Langrois project; and the 29-MW Chaume Solar project in the Pays de la Loire region.
Q Energy noted that the Croix de l’Erable, Croix de Bertault and Le Langrois projects totalling 49 MW were recently sold to Octopus Energy Generation. As per the Chaume Solar project, it mentioned that the plant has a corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) in place with retail group Les Mousquetaires.
The company went on to say that it will progressively commence construction of the remaining 200 MW of projects from the second half of 2023 onwards. Among them are more wind repowerings and an energy storage plant.
The entire 320-MW bundle “will be commissioned progressively over the next two years,” said Jean-Francois PETIT, CEO of Q Energy France.
