French independent renewable power producer Qair on Thursday announced the commissioning of two wind farms in Poland that have expanded its fleet of renewable energy parks in the country to 388.5 MW.

The new plants were installed on agricultural land in the municipalities of Widuchowa and Stawiszyn, in central Poland’s Greater Poland Voivodeship. Powered by five Vestas V110 turbine generators, the wind farms will be capable of producing around 400,000 MWh of green power annually. Their combined output is estimated to be enough to cover the electricity demand of around 18,000 homes per year.

Qair was awarded power generation licenses for the two plants in the closing quarter of 2023.

Qair has been active in Poland since 2015 through its subsidiary Qair Polska. At present, the company has 11 wind farms across several regions totalling 262.5 MW and solar parks with a combined capacity of 126 MW. In addition, three large-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects of 120 MW in total are in the advanced stages of construction.
