TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTE) has struck an settlement to construct and function a 33-MW (direct present) ground-mounted photo voltaic farm with a 38.5-MWh battery power storage system (BESS) at a Colorado cement manufacturing facility for Holcim US, a part of Swiss constructing supplies group Holcim AG (SWX:HOLN).
Holcim stated on Tuesday that the events signed a 15-year energy buy and storage companies settlement (PPSSA) to catapult the challenge. The partnership will see the French multi-energy group set up and function the solar-plus-storage plant at Holcim’s Portland cement manufacturing facility in Florence.

Holcim has pledged to energy all of its US operations with 100% renewables by 2050. The Florence on-site energy plant will allow it reduce the manufacturing facility’s CO2 emissions by greater than 40,000 tonnes yearly whereas offsetting over 40% of its present power demand, Holcim stated.
Underneath the PPSSA, the cement producer will obtain some 71 GWh of unpolluted energy from the brand new setup.
The hybrid energy system is anticipated to begin operations in 2025.
