Project development and management services provider TritenIAG said today it will assist the developer of the massive wind-to-green-hydrogen Project Nujio’qonik in Canada with carrying out a FEED (front-end engineering design) study.

TritenIAG did not give further information about its job.

Project Nujio’qonik calls for the installation of a complex with 1.5 GW of electrolysers on the west coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, that will be fed with electricity from more than 3 GW of onshore wind farms to produce green hydrogen and ammonia.

The project developer, World Energy GH2 Inc, last month submitted the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and later announced securing the required crown land approvals to build the complex. It says this will be Canada’s first commercial-scale green hydrogen and ammonia production project and a cornerstone of Canada’s deal with Germany to stimulate hydrogen production by 2025.
