Madrid-based consultancy Vector Renewables said that it will provide asset management services for a 64-MWp solar photovoltaic portfolio in Chile on behalf of Denmark’s Obton, having secured the contract for the job.

The portfolio contains seven small-scale solar distributed generation (DG) projects, known in Chile as PMGDs or PMGs. As such, they benefit from a stabilised tariff for injecting electricity into the grid.

The systems will be located in the O’Higgins, Maule and the Santiago Metropolitan regions. For the Danish solar energy investor, the portfolio marked its entry into the Chilean and Latin American market.

The scope of Vector’s contract will include supervising accounting, financial reporting, and project financing management. The firm will also support Obton in performance analysis and monitoring, operation and maintenance oversight, energy asset management and periodic visits to the plants to develop technical reports on their performance.

The DG systems will gradually enter into operations from October 2023 until the end of 2024, Vector said.

With Obton’s contract, Vector Renewables will get to increase managed solar capacity in Chile to 810 MW.

Vector Renewables is part of Italian renewables company Renantis SpA, formerly Falck Renewables.
