US renewables developer Apex Clean Energy has ordered 126 MW of wind turbines from Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) for a repowering project it seeks to realise in the US state of Maine.
The Danish wind turbine maker said on Wednesday that the order asks for 30 units of the V150-4.2 MW turbines to be used for the Downeast Wind project owned by Apex Clean Energy.
The scope of the order includes the supply, delivery and commissioning of the turbines. Also part of the contract is a multi-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.
Vestas expects to start delivering the turbines in the second quarter of 2024. Commissioning will be carried out in the fourth quarter of 2024, according to the current timeline.
