Vestas has successfully completed its first fully assembled offshore wind turbine hub in Taiwan.
According to a social media post, this marks Vestas’s first such structure put together in the country.
The work was performed along with Zhongneng Offshore wind farm, a 300MW development headed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and China Steel.
“With this milestone in the localisation of offshore turbines, we solidify our commitment to advancing Taiwan’s renewable energy landscape both now and in the future,” the post stated.
“At the core of the hub is the enormous hub casting, manufactured just a few kilometers away by YGG at their Taichung foundry – yet another first for Taiwan.”
