Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) on Thursday said it has received a firm order to provide 1,140 MW of turbines for the Baltic Power offshore wind project in Poland.
The firm contract from Baltic Power Sp. z o.o, a joint venture between Polish oil refiner PKN Orlen (WSE:PKN) and Canada’s Northland Power Inc (TSE:NPI), comes after the wind farm project recently reached financial close.
Vestas announced a conditional agreement for the Polish project in August.
The Danish manufacturer will supply, install and commission 76 units of its V236-15.0 MW wind turbine for the Baltic Power project. The deal also includes a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.
Delivery of the turbines is expected to start in the first quarter of 2025, with commissioning planned for 2026.
