Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) on Tuesday unveiled a 288-MW order coming from an undisclosed customer in the US.
Under the contract, the Danish wind turbine manufacturer will be responsible for supplying, delivering and commissioning a total of 64 units of its V150-4.5 MW turbine model for two projects which were also undisclosed. One of the wind farms will feature 34 turbines and the other will have 30. Vestas expects to start delivering the turbines in the second quarter of 2024. Commissioning is planned to take place in the subsequent third quarter.
The order includes a multi-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.
Vestas reported second-quarter results earlier this month, confirming its full-year outlook. Order intake in the second quarter was 2,333 MW, up 8% on a year ago.
