It’s March 7 today, and you know what that means, right? It’s time for Rivian’s R2 to finally get official. We’ve seen plenty of teasers about it, there was even a last-minute leak this week, but nothing beats an actual unveiling ceremony, and that’s exactly what Rivian has planned for later today.
It kicks off at 10 AM Pacific, which is 1 PM Eastern, 18:00 GMT, 19:00 CET, and 23:30 in India. The whole thing will be live streamed, and we’ve embedded the stream below for your viewing pleasure.
The R2 will be Rivian’s most affordable vehicle so far, thus having the potential to go much more mass-market than the R1S and R1T. It has been described as a shrunken down version of the R1S, still being an SUV and all – which is good because SUVs are taking over the world, in case you haven’t noticed.
According to the aforementioned last-minute leak, the R2 will have a starting price of €43,800 and range of up to 531 km. It will do 0 to 97 km/h in 3 seconds. It’s 4,714 mm long, 1,910 mm wide, and 1,699 mm tall, with a 2,936 mm wheelbase. It’s also expected to come with the NACS connector built-in.
