XPeng is ramping up its efforts to make its advanced driver assistance system, XNGP (Navigation Guided Pilot), accessible to more users across China. XPeng has expanded the coverage to 27 more cities, reaching a total of 52 urban areas in China. The company also has plans to introduce XNGP to Europe by the end of 2024.

Starting immediately, eligible G9 and P7i vehicles will have access to the Xmart OS 4.5.0 system’s public beta, which includes the XNGP feature. As for G6 vehicle owners, they will be able to join the beta starting on December 18.

XNGP represents a full-scenario Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), covering various driving environments, including highways, city streets, campus roads, and parking lots. Initially introduced as Highway NGP, XPeng has steadily expanded its coverage to more and more urban areas.

At the company’s annual Tech Day event on October 24, XPeng declared its ambitious plan to roll out XNGP in 20 cities without High Definition maps by the end of November, ultimately aiming to reach 50 cities by the year’s end, so it’s actually going ahead of schedule. XPeng’s long-term goal is to make XNGP available on all roads in major Chinese cities by the end of 2024.

Li Auto is set to release its OTA 5.0 update to L-series models on December 19, providing comprehensive smart driving feature coverage on highways, city ring roads, and urban roads in 110 Chinese cities.

Nio, for its part, says it will complete the validation of 155,300 miles of its NOP+ (Navigate on Pilot Plus) urban pilot routes across 200 Chinese cities by the end of the year.
