The EPA Combined range for the rear-wheel-drive ID.4 Pro, clocking in at an impressive 291 miles. This represents an increase of 5.8% compared to the previous model. Even the all-wheel-drive variants, with their added power requirements, show improvements, with ratings of 263 miles, an increase of 3.1%. These results underscore the potential of making electric vehicles (EVs) more efficient and extending their range without resorting to higher-capacity batteries.
Local production of the Volkswagen ID.4 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and the use of locally sourced lithium-ion batteries ensure that the model remains eligible for the full £6,100 federal tax credit, a significant incentive for prospective buyers. Fortunately, this favorable situation is expected to continue into 2024.
