EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) saw the output of its renewable power plants go up 11% year-on-year to 10.2 TWh in the first quarter of 2023.
According to the company’s report released on Monday, the growth was driven by the sharp increase in renewables generation in South America and Brazil in particular where EDPR has 1,114 MW in installed capacity.
Additionally, EDPR’s renewables generation in the Asia Pacific (APAC) rose four times following the acquisition of solar developer Sunseap which was completed in February 2022.

In the first three months of 2023, the installed capacity in EDPR’s renewables portfolio rose to 14.8 GW, with Europe and North America accounting for 38% and 49%, respectively. The firm currently has 5 GW of new capacity under construction.
