Indian corporate renewable energy solutions provider Vibrant Energy, a portfolio company of Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG), has awarded a contract to Shanghai-based green technology company Envision Energy for the supply of about 149 MW of wind turbines.
The Chinese company will deliver 45 units of its 3.3-MW turbines, starting in the third quarter of fiscal 2024, says a news release by Envision Energy.
Vibrant, which develops and owns open-access renewable energy projects for corporate consumers, plans to use the newly-purchased machines as part of its upcoming wind-solar hybrid project, its chief executive Srinivasan Viswanathan stated.
Last month, Vibrant Energy secured more than INR 22 billion (USD 267.4m/EUR 245.8m) in project financing to build 300 MW of hybrid wind-and-solar parks in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.
