German wind power-focused renewables company PNE AG (ETR:PNE3) has put a 28.5-MW wind park in the federal state of Hesse into operation, expanding its own generation portfolio to 349.5 MW.
The wind farm in the Mansbach village, in Hohenroda municipality, features five Nordex N 149 turbines which are expected to produce enough electricity to supply around 13,400 four-person households and offset around 25,800 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
“It is our goal as a clean energy solutions provider to continuously increase the number of wind farms that we operate ourselves as an independent power producer. By the end of 2027, wind farms and photovoltaic plants with a capacity of 1,500 MW/MWp should be in operation or under construction,” said chief executive Markus Lesser.
Earlier this month, Lesser said that PNE has 207 MW of wind projects under construction or in preparation for this phase after successfully passing the tendering process. The realisation of these projects will require more than EUR 500 million (USD 550.1m) in investments, according to the chief executive.
