A Warsaw-based subsidiary of Polish oil refiner Orlen SA (WSE:PKN) has applied to acquire two local wind project developers, the country’s antitrust regulator UOKiK announced on Monday.

Specifically, Orlen Wind 3 sp. z o. o. is looking to take full control of Copernicus Windpark sp. z o. o. and Forthewind sp. z o. o., both based in the city of Koszalin, northwestern Poland.

The regulator did not provide details about the targets other than the fact that they operate primarily in the field of electricity generation from renewable energy sources.

The application was lodged on October 25, 2023.
