Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has booked a firm order to supply its turbines for a 43-MW wind farm project in southern Germany.
It is the first firm order for the Vestas V172-7.2 MW machines, the latest addition to the EnVentus Platform. The V172-7.2 MW model is designed for optimised energy production in low to medium average wind conditions, the turbine maker said.
German wind power developer Uhl Windkraft ordered six of these turbines for the Hosskirch project, located in the namesake town near Friedrichshafen. The project represents a cooperation between Uhl Windkraft and the Comital House of Koenigsegg-Aulendorf.
Vestas will supply, deliver and commission the turbines. The order also includes a 25-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.
Turbine deliveries are to start in the second quarter of 2025. Commissioning is scheduled to wrap up during the third quarter of the same year.
